Mold Release Agents

While I've got Lead on the Brain (is that why it moves so slow?), how 'bout making-available the Mold Release Agents we'd need to pour Tin and Zinc into our Lead Molds?

I've used hard and soft lead and never used a mold release agent or smoked them.  As far as I know from several who pour tin they've had no problem getting them out of the mold.  Course tin is about $17 a pound!!  and it weighs about 2/3rds less than lead.

The info in the PDF state the Melting Point of Zinc is 3272 (F?), but all the info that comes up elsewhere says Zinc's Melting Point is 787F, Boiling Point is 1665F.

In the past, I read quite extensively on Zinc and Tin.  According to what seems Universally Right, Zinc is safe until it Burns, such as when Galvanized Steel is cut or welded.

I kind of stocked up on Tin when Walmart was (not sure why) selling Tin Split Shot for $1/pack, not the usual $3.50-ish.  I've started getting skeptical about using my Tin when I read that Tin Stocks are low and diminishing.

I have a decent lot of Zinc from used Sacrificial Anodes from Offshore Crewboats that were being replaced.  It's hard but I think it may apply if the 7 Moons Aligned and I put that foot forward...but not until I know for sure.

When they ban lead, that will light the necessary fires...

I use drop out on all my molds.
When I cast with tin they come out just like the lead jigs do.
No sticking or anything.
I honestly don't believe a special mold release of any kind is needed for tin jigs.

When they ban lead only outlaws will have lead.

At a national level it's going to be hard to do a total lead ban.  There are specific laws allowing it's use in hunting and fishing.
