DENNY!

I saw a weather report that included your area in part and it said you were getting rain and snow even at higher elevations. Is this true? Sure would be nice to hear something positive come from the weather once and this would be positive if you are getting wet. I should add....getting wet without mudslides.

We've been getting some rain, but not nearly enough to overcome four years of drought.  An inch here and a half inch there, but it's coming in regularly...every week or so.  Our parched ground is still sucking the water up so not a lot of runoff.  For example, Folsom Lake is getting about 350 cfs in and is discharging about 350 cfs so there's no gain.  Folsom's lowest ramp is still about 20 vertical feet out of the water.  The mountains have gotten some snow and hopefully it will continue.  It's an El NiƱo year and we're getting our share of weird stuff...funnel clouds, heavy hail, cold at night (25* last night), etc.  Every time we get a report of rain we also get a flash flood/mud/debris alert.  I was up at Tahoe last week and even it is a few feet down...docks high and dry, etc.  We're not out of it yet.
Until next time.

I saw that weather map and thought "alright". For the sake of getting things past your drought I hope you have a bad winter for snow. Anyway, seeing your area getting wet is good news.
