Needed something to go with a Black shaky head

Been practicing DF'S method he showed us with these jerk shads . He makes it look easier than it was for me . The belly is hand poured clear then florida grape with the top shot in black . The eyes will be heading for a dip once I finish this pan .



Not sure if I like these or not .

There you go! Beautiful colored baits! And you hand pouring is fine. You didn't mention if you are pouring from a cup or maybe using your injector to lay in the colors with the mold open but you seem to have it down pat. I use spoons to do my belly pours and split belly colors. I get a bit more control over the pouring that way but whatever you're doing, keep it up.

Play with different color as the center color and mess around with the bottom colors too. Hand pouring offers a ton of options and you seem to be discovering that in a grand way. Try doing your belly clear but slightly under-filled, then hand pour the  back in back and again under filled, then shoot the purple straight thru as your line and tail color. I know it seems moot but you'll see a difference in how the baits turn out and you may find its what you are wanting all along.

Tom I couldn't replicate DF's method consistently , so I adapted . I pour straight from a pyrex cup which is hard for me because my hands shake (Muscle spasms from 2 car wrecks) . I poured the bottom clear , then I poured the purple straight over top , closed the mold then shot the black .

I'm just grateful that we have such a great community of people willing to help such as you DF and many others so we can learn and make a good looking bait to fish. I will definitely try your suggestions , thanks again .

Those look great CF, a preheated mold can help some.  One thing I like about making plastics is that very few things are set in stone, find what works best for you and run with it.

Yes, Those baits look great! Remember in the wild; all fish are not marked the same. So, if the color line is a little off; the fish don't care!

If your going to hand pour first ,might want to check out the norpro silicone cups .They make pouring alot easier. Just make sure u dont fill them up past half way . They are a soft cup and you can  squeeze the top to get a more precise pour.

I have a hard time endorsing those silicone cups. I had a couple of the Norpro cups and had a slip while handling one between the fill and pour and simple reflex made me grab for the cup and I had plastic all over everything within five feet including my clothes and gloves and microwave and work area. The soft cups hit the trash at that point.
