Does the dual injection system replace the lami plate for 2 color baits?

They'll both give you a 2 color bait. They're both good products also. I'd suggest the dual inj, It'll let you make laminates with any mold almost & it will give you a 100% secure bond. there's a slight learning curve ( getting temps right/injection pressure) but its very easy to pick up on.Molds it really shines is something like a paddle tail swimbait

If One really wants to get Creative, use the Lam Plates AND the Twin...for a 3-color or even a 4-color bait.

Having the Twin also gives You more Capacity for shooting Single-color baits vs. a Large Injector, when shooting Thirsty Molds, whether Pro Molds or just High Capacity molds like the 7" Regular (non-Skinny) Carrot.  The Do-It Twin's Blending Block is only 3.5" wide so it can be dipped into a single Cup or small Pot to draw a single color.  If You're shooting several molds in single-color, Do-it's Twin increases Your capacity vs. reloading another Injector or clearing the now-empty Injector You just shot with.  There WILL come a day I will own one of Do-it's Twinjectors.

The Lam Plates are also killer for shooting Half-mold Baits, using just the Bait Half, not following-through shooting the other half...Carrots, Senkos, Glider, all make Killer Half-mold Leeches.

Side Note...I would love to see some of Do-it's current offerings available in a different Sprue/Injection Port/Runner Arrangment, where the Sprue feeds each Cavity individually, shot at the Nose of the Bait.  My first request would be the 9" Ribbontail Worm, so I can shoot Lams that result in a Top/Bottom Color with the Curl of the Tail Up or Down.

How reasonable would it be for a mold to also include the amount of plastic required?

I like the dual injector it makes great baits. I had a stroke 5 years ago and sometimes I'm not as steady as my hand needs to be to hand pour but the injector is easy. I also have a triple injector that makes awesome baits I'm still learning how to properly shoot the triple laminate but have already caught fish on its baits. I know a lot of guys combine hand pour and the dual injector. Good Luck.
