Cooling Time: 4 cavity 4" and 5" Senko molds
« on: 08/05/16 08:35 UTC »
Hello-

Hope this is not a repeat question, I searched the forum here and could not find what I was looking for..

Anyway, some time next week all of my material, molds and tools will arrive so I can start making soft baits.   So, my question is, after they are poured, how long do they need to sit in the molds for?

Thanks

About a min or so.  The more you pour in a session the longer they will need to sit as the mold will get hot. I generally just let them sit in there until I have the next batch of plastic ready for its final run in the microwave. Take your baits out of the mold and let them cure (ie place them on something, I use foil pans, and lay them out straight). you can bag and use them right out of the mold if you want but they will bend and kink as they cure.  All personal preference.  I know a few guys on here let them cure for over a week or more.
