Has anybody tried automotive metal flake? Any do's or don'ts? I would figure it would work well since it is normally a higher grade of product than say craft glitter. I know it typically isn't cost effective as say the glitter Jann's and others sells. The flakes at my work start out at about $18 retail for 2 ounces. My employee cost is about $12-13. It can even go up if you want the Roth Trippin series of if you want to really overpay for House of Kolor. The upside would be the huge array of colors Roth, Paint Huffer and the likes have where the lure companies sell about a dozen colors. At the end of the day I'm sure 10-12 colors is probably good enough.
My deal is i have probably a pounds worth of left over metal flake from almost every motorcycle I have painted in the last 4 years. My thinking is maybe I can thin out my stock while making these plastic lures my son and I have in mind.
Anyone have any experience good or bad with automotive flake?
