Hot molds

What do you guys do when your molds get hot? I can't shoot fast because they get hotter. Just wondering if you guys had any ideas besides buying more molds.

I put other cold molds close to the same size around the ones I'm shooting to suck the heat out of the hot molds. When those start to heat up grab some other cold molds to put next to the molds you are shooting.  Works like a heat sink.

I cooked for 6 yr. and the heat doesn't bother me but I can see that someone that don't shot a lot they get very hot. And some mold better the hotter they get.
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN

I do the same as MikeJ with cool molds, plus I have a fan blowing on the mold after I shoot it to cool a  little quicker. I like to cool the molds so the plastic hardens quicker for unmolding. On the other hand, I like my injectors warmer. I rotate them in a modified electric skillet set on 200°. I have seen some crafters using marble cutting boards for cooling. I might try to find one at a garage sale to give it a try.

If I heat up a mold or a few too warm to work with comfortably I lay them opened up on their backs on the concrete garage floor. Nothing will suck the heat out of a mold like concrete. Well, maybe a Minnesota winter.

That makes so much sense that I feel kind of stupid for not trying it, since I work in the garage with concrete floors. Thanks ctom!

I've actually shot my molds in a shallow pan of cool water to keep them cooler. If the water gets warm just change it.
