Making time
« on: 12/18/18 22:10 UTC »
Walleye bite continues to be good up here. Been fishing a lake I’ve never fished before. Averaging 9-15 walleyes a night with my 4 year old. Typically only fish an hour and a half each time out and that’s enough. Lot of just cutter fish with him, lose more than we land and that’s fine. I did land a pig one night on my solo trip. Fished one other day from dark to dark and the clicker ended at just over the century mark. Haven’t done much crappie or bluegills in December on ice but The last two weeks of November they were pretty good. Just a lot easier to chase a flag, jig a spoon, or watch a good walleye bite with my boys vs a finicky panny nite.

Way to go Rex. My dad always made time to take us fishing when we were kids. After I grew up I learned to realize that he actually had to "make" time to do it. There were 8 kids and he worked a lot. Sounds like you have a great place to start your son out. Nice pics!

Good job Rex. These outings are memory makers. My oldest daughter was a fishing fool and we had her on ice early too. She's got four kids now, two of which are in college and she's deep into the Boy Scouting in leadership roles so I have to think that getting her interested in the great out-of-doors helped in some part to get her interest in scouting off the ground. If they're fishing, they're not on the streets. Again, good job!

Rex them are times that the kids remember and thank you for when they get older.
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN
