Road trip
« on: 01/12/19 08:41 UTC »
Friday, yesterday, Carole and I set out on a little road trip and ended up at the Do-It plantation's front door....imagine that. Had to stop in and say "Hi" to all the guys and a couple of the girls. As always, it was a great visit.

Carole and I shopped in Waverly for an hour and stopped at a favorite diner for lunch further up the road and stopped by some friend's place for a chit chat then came home.

I picked up some goodies at Do-It along with a mold and hope to have some pictures yet today. We missed the weather in our travels yesterday but it looks like the Do-It boys may have to break out shovels on Monday, but they may be getting only flurries too. Our friend Lines is more likely shoveling though. The current weather system in the upper part of the country is going to create a mess for a lot of people, hopefully ya'll are not getting affected with this mess. Here at home we're toying with about 22 degrees and clouds with no snow forecast for us and that's just fine with me....I'm enjoying brown ground. I'm headed for the work room in a little bit and plan to play with some plastic. Pics later. Have agreat weekend everyone.

Yes we are shoveling, but not as much as expected. We got about 2-3 inches of snow overnight. It is still snowing. Predictions are 5-6 inches by Sunday. Not too bad for January.  I may brave the temperatures and try to shoot a new mold I got for Christmas. A friend that I fish with got me a 3" paddle tail grub body mold. We'll see what happens!

I have 5 or 6 inches on the ground right now.  The good news is it is not snowing at the moment.  Not quite the apocalyptic end of the world that the weather channel predicted.  Good dau to stay home and watch some tv.

Haven't talked with my daughter in K.C. Mo. yet, but I'm guessing they have about the same olsarge. Mom is in St. Joe. I'll call her in a little while and see what they have.

We wound up with 7 inches.  Daughter, who lives in KC had a similar amount (plus she is without power).  Last I heard the St Louis area was getting hammered with 10 inches on the ground and still snowing like crazy.  Someone told me they got 17 inches but no idea how accurate that is..  My new car is comfortably resting in the garage, and I am doing the same in my tying room.

Still brown here....but cloudy. That's fine by me. No shovel or sunglasses needed.

Between all the rain we have had and the few inches of snow we got a couple of weeks ago a lot of yards around here are starting to turn green. We had a low spot in our yard that held water for most of last week from all the moisture we have had. It’s been very cold here including today. Definitely the coldest winter so far we have had in recent years. I’m almost ready for it to be 100+ degrees again.

I’m with Tom kind of nice not having to shovel.
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN
