Some shallow water prespawn stick skippin
« on: 03/24/12 21:27 UTC »
March 23, 2012 in a small Virginia lake. Prespawn. Water surface temp is 71*. Skipping my home poured 5" salted Stick Bait under and around docks and brush on the shore. Amber/brown with brown, gold, purple, and orange flake to imitate a Bluegill. 6'6" Spinning rod with 20/6 PowerPro braid and no leader. 2/0 Mustad weedless hook rigged with a 3/16 id o-ring.

Small males are in shallow but the females are not up yet. Average bass in this lake is normally around 15"

Camera is a Kodak Zi8 in low quality mode attached to my new home made hat cam. First time I am trying it. Batterey ran out after a couple hours :(
