I'm getting ready to pour some motor oil baits.  What color of glitter goes well with it??

Hi Brad,

It depends on how much motor oil you are adding and what bait you are pouring.  If you Google motor oil and the bait (craw, worm, shad, etc.), and then click on images, it will show you different combos others have done.  If you pour a good combo make sure and post a pic.

I like to use small red or green or both with motor oil.

Poured a little just straight motor oil, ok but nothing worth adding to the tackle box.  I added some small green glitter and blue/green powder color.  Something interesting but not sure yet.  I'll try some more this week.  If I come up with anything that looks like it will catch fish I'll let you know!

Red is good but use the smaller red, small gold is good as well. I also like copper flake in mine. Super tiny gold holo is my favorite.

I think the key with Motor Oil is to limit the flake to smaller amounts and smaller flake.

To much flake will interfer with the light passing through and you will loose the "changeability" that you see in a clear bait.

I agree 100%. Also,at least as far as MF motor oil is concerned,a little goes a long way. It's easy to add too much with this color.  SE Ohio bass LOVE motor oil worms with a little red flake.

Thanks for the great info.  I'll try small red flake, as well as gold or copper.  Looking forward to getting out and trying it soon.
