bread day.....again
« on: 01/13/15 12:33 UTC »
Today is bread baking day again and Carole wants cinnamon-raisin. For the most part around here what Carole wants, Carole gets. Bread-wise that is. She has a favorite Christmas bread that is laced with fruit that I make for her on Christmas Eve so she has it on Christmas morning. Things were hectic here then so she had to wait until New Year's Eve for it. But that's all gone now and she had the yeast jar on the counter-top this morning.... you know, that hint, hint thing. So the bread is rising right now. Then I have to add the raisins, cinnamon sugar and butter  and roll the loaf up for the second rising. 30 minutes in the oven and then hot buttered and tasty.

I'll get a picture of the finished product.

Looks good and enjoy. The problem with making bread is if you have a good bakery near by they make the bread so cheap it's not worth my time making it. I'm lucky to have two of them and if I let them know what I'm looking for they will make it for me. I'm an old German and still love my hard rye bread, cold cuts and limburger cheese. One of those will fill you up. And don't forget a beer to wash it down. It's the way men are suppose to eat.

No bakeries around here. No that do anything on a "to order" basis.

I like the dark pumperknickle style of rye bread, swiss cheese slices hard salami and sandwich pepperoni. Ice cold cream soda with it.
