Many many years ago a band called Tommy James and the Shondells recorded a song called Strawberry wine and in part went "strawberry wine, so very fine"... Well, today was the day I moved the first batch of raspberry wine from the first clearing jug to the second clearing jugs. My daughter was here for lunch and watched as I was siphoning the fuel from jug to jug.
" Wow" she says. "that's wine? It smells like booze". So ok, as long as he was here and Carole said to save a sip or six during the moving process I let about 1/3 of a juice glass get away from the jug as sample juice. And now after having had a sip or two, I agree 100% with Mr. Shondell and his band only its raspberry, but it is indeed "so very fine".
Carole is still catching her breath. Said daughter left saying she wanted to get home before it hits her. The hydrometer estimates this at around 18.2% alcohol. Samples will be had at the get together.
