Berry bug...as a "slop/buzz" bait

Does anyone use the Berry Bug as a "slop bait"...that is.....buzzing it through the weeds as a top water bait?

Does it make enough noise?

I haven't tested it for this, but doubt it would be the most effective bait for that application.  It is designed to flutter and swim and doesn't really have the hydrodynamics to keep on top without really burning it.  We will come out with a toad that is designed and tested for this purpose as well as swimming.

Until then, I would recommend the Croaker, or the Ribbon tail worm.  The toad stickers would also work if you wanted to drag it across the top of vegetation and then let it fall in pockets or at the edge.  I would fish them in that order (basically you would be fishing a frog, snake and craw from a fishes perspective - however on the fall I think the TS may be perceived as a bluegill depending on color and glitter, it has a nice flutter).

The Berry Bug does really well as a flipping bait and really excels on a chatter bait or turned sideways on a scrounger.

Hope that helps.
