On Lake Superior the laws read that only lures with a single hook can be used in or within 100 feet of a river that enters the lake. I've always carries a side cutter and single hooks that can replace the trebles I cut off to stay legal. I tried the Siwash hooks but was met with hits but no hook-ups. I started using spinner bait hooks and got hook-ups.

You need to hone your Googlefu.

Size 6 VMC siwash hooks are $14 a hundred at one place I deal with.  Size 4 are the same price.

I wish the Mustad Ultra Point siwash hooks came in some smaller sizes and larger packs.  Those are a awesome siwash hook.  Used them for Columbia river salmon the past couple of years with great success.

Been using the worm weights for spinner bodies.  Broke out my egg sinker mold yesterday and cast some 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 ounce weights.  Got them all powder coated and built some spinners off of them last night.  Going to get out later this week and see how they fish.
