Packaging
« on: 10/14/11 16:25 UTC »
Greetings!
I am curious for those of who who sell, how are you packaging your baits?  The stick baits and carrots are self explanatory to me.  I am thinking of a good looking way to package the 4"Croaker and the 12" Thumper.  For all those of us who have spent any time fishing, we know it's the bait the fish care about- therefore the most important thing.  But, for those of us who have spent a great deal of time in marketing, it is the packaging that the fisherperson sees first.   :)
I welcome our thoughts, pics?  Thanks gang!

I'm fortunate in that I am selling mine in bulk bins in my retail store.  When I start wholesaling baits to other stores I will have to start putting them in laminated bags.

Jason sells bags in his store and you can print up nice looking sticker labels or I think Johnson bag company will screen your logo on their bags for an extra fee.

Be sure and get laminated bags versus regular grocery variety ziplock bags.
God Bless!

I use CCM bags for the most part except for the 6x4 ones because Jason doesnt carry them yet (hint, hint). Just match the bait to the bag.

For labels I use to use the Avery 2x4 shipping labels from Walmart. Just create you a design and print it on the labels. Avery has free software. Its real easy to do.

Now I get Daryl at iguangrafix.com to digitally print my labels.

We sell bags that will fit them.  I would use the 7x4 for the Croakers and the 11" for the Stump Thumper.

I haven't forgot about the 6".  I will get them as soon as we order bags again.  The shipping on them is high when it's one box via UPS.  When we order a bunch at once the are sent via a freight carrier.

Sounds good!  On the Thumper, I wasn't sure if the 11" bags would put a bend in the tails or not.  I guess I'll have to do what is against my nautre and go s-l-o-w-e-r.. :)
I was toying with the idea of pre-hooking the Croakers and putting them in clamshell packaging.  8)
