Losing color and bleeding is worst thing I've had or maybe curl a little.  It's cheap so if you get a bleeder your not out much.  Blues and reds are the only I've had any problems with.

A lot of the getter that you will get from the craft stores  will probably bleed  you have to be careful  on temperature  try to keep the temperature around 325  on most of the stuff that you will get out of the craft  stores.  I am working with a large manufacturer  on glitter  I will post later on  this is  holographic  type  of glitter.

Bears Baits used to have a "shad glitter". He ran out and was unable to get more. Would love to find a copy of it. (Down to my last jar!)

Starting out a guy needs everything going in his direction and using proven products will help in that regard. Once you're getting a feel for this stuff you can poke around in after-market things but you're far better off using reputable products. You'll find such at Do-It. I mix Do-It .015 green, blue, copper and purple glitter together in equal portions to make what I call my bluegill blend. I use a half-pint canning jar/lid and simply dump one container of each color in it and mix it up with the cap on. I use this blend in clear plastic and its beautiful. I found some glitter at a Hobby Lobby that had all four of these colors and 8 others in a "set" and bought one thinking it was cheaper. I did the mix per usual. A few days later I grabbed the jar  of el jappo cheapo stuff and just as I addedit to my batch of plastic I noticed that the whole jar had changed color. Too late for the batch but I coked it up anyway. At about 290 degrees I was looking at a big ugly wad of plastic that wasn't really orange but not quite brown either but was full of silver glitter. The stuff bled dry in the jar and with heat the color washed right off the underlying silver mylar.

I know its tempting to hit those craft shops for some of this stuff but give yourself a chance to get acquainted with the plastic before you start  going to the cheap.

i came up with a solvent test for hobby glitter that has worked for me. i take caps from water bottles an fill them with rubbing alcohol! put a small amount of glitter in it. if the alcohol takes on the color of the glitter then its a bleeder an it will bleed in your hot plastic. fast test an you don't need to waste plastic to find out if it will bleed. the recollections an creatology glitter works from michaels an tree house studio glitter works from hobby lobby.
