That was an interesting exercise...  I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong, and sure enough, if you add a little black to red you get purple (maybe more of a violet)...   So much for the color wheel.

I posted this in the color cookbook as well.  This should get you really close (within a drop or 2) of what you are looking for:

It is a little blacker looking in person.  CCM JR busted these out.

(Baits to the right)
8 oz Plastic
3 Drops X2 Red
18 Drops X2 Black
1/4 tsp. .015 Red glitter

or

(Baits to the left - by thumb)
8 oz Plastic
30 Drops Regular Red
24 Drops X2 Black
1/4 tsp. .015 Red glitter

Let us know how it turns out for you.

Jason

Thanks Jason I tried it again and had better luck. He is very happy with this color- Do have to stir up the black after it sits for awhile (couple of weeks) it may be the heat my workshop it is only air conditioned when I am in it.

You should mix/shake as needed - it would vary by color and how often you use it.  It should be pretty minimal effort as it doesn't separate much.

Thanks,
