Price on baits

I didn't plan on selling any of the senko/ stick baits I make but guys are wanting them that I have shown them to. My question is, how much do you guys sell your sticks for? 10 in a pack or more?

After reading your posts about getting the sink rate to match Yamamotos, and seeing the pics of the baits you produce, I would not be afraid to ask between $6.00 - $7.00 for a pack of 10. That might even be too cheap. I don't make Senkos myself, so I don't know how much it takes to produce one. Your baits look very nice, so I wouldn't undercut myself on price.

Thanks man! I've spent a lot of time testing them in pools and matching the action and even the feel. I like Yamamoto the best of any senko so that's why I wanted to be as spot on as possible. I believe I got 9 cents in each bait. This is the watermelon red I did the other day.

If you've got 9 cents/bait tied up, factor in your mailing costs [package and actual postage] along with the bait bags and you'll soon see where "your cost" is probably more than you think. The $7-$8 dollars/10 baits is not out of line at all.

Don't forget about a rough guess at what power consumption costs if making large batches. Every time that microwave comes on it ain't free.

  Just my opinion here. But GY Senkos sell at Tackle Warehouse at $7.49 for 10 baits plus shipping. So now I talk to you at the ramp and you got this custom bait that is tweaked a little different then any other bait out there. I own a $65,000 boat with a $45,000 truck pulling it and fishing in a pot tournament that I could win $300. I have already proven I don't care what it cost to win. I'd tell them a buck a piece and if you want you can come to my house and together we will make your own color the I won't sell to anyone else at a buck fifty each and a minimum of 50 Senkos. I have a friend that makes jigs like that and he has come up with some killer jigs from some good fisherman. He can't sell them but he sure can fish them. I'd rather be the guy that everyone says he's not cheap but he's worth every penny then I would want to be the guy everyone says I buy them off him and he saves me a few bucks.

100% agree with Lamar!  There's a reason the Do-it catalog says "WHEN PRIDE IS ON THE LINE". I myself always want to be the best at what I do.
