Dipping
« on: 11/23/17 04:33 UTC »
Hi guys.
When dipping your finished lures, have any of you tried to dillute the plastic with softener?
If memory serves rigth i saw something on utube which did deal with copic spray system and i think he said that he did dillute the plastic 25 %.
I think that sounds a bit to much but was thinking of maybe 10-15 % to get a thiner layer.

Gotta think up something new all the time...

Softer plastic applies thinner but bear in mind that as you add softener you are making the plastic tackier and at some point the softener will make the plastic so sticky that its useless.

No way it was 25% softener.  Like Tom said, that much softener is going to make the plastic become tacky and not useable.  My recommendation would be to cut that way back, try 5-10% like you were thinking and go from there.

Bassinfool, jupp he said 25% softener!
Maybe he was trying to catch snagging style with "glue".
