Colorant

I’m needing some white colorant to make some toads for a buddy.  Do y’all recommend the essential series or the X2 colorants for white?

I have used both and both are good. X2 is pretty potent but it hard packs big time. I don't use a lot of white so I use the essential white now.

Buy the X2 white and get an extra empty bottle at the same time. Make sure the new is well mixed and pour half into the new bottle, then fill both bottles back to near full with raw plastic and add a couple stainless 1/4" nuts to each bottle. My hard packed colors get emptied into a bowl and worked over until smooth again using raw plastic, then into new bottles with the nuts. For some reason the raw plastic doesn't allow the hard packing to get near as hard and the nuts will help agitate it. Cut by 50% the X2 is still about twice as strong as the Essential, which in its own right is strong colorant.

I prefer most of the X2 colorants over any other colorants but I think the X2 white is to thick and hard to work with. I would go with the essential.

CTom how long have you been mixing this? Does it seem to work well long term? This could be the best idea of 2017!

I do this with just about all of my X2 colors.

Something you should develop early though is a good system of keeping your colors shaken up on a very regular basis. And put the pair of 1/4" stainless nuts in each jug. White and the fluorescent colors are most prone to packing though so maybe concentrate any thinning endeavors on those.
