The bait is something else for walleye/sauger....even bigger crappies love it. And lets not forget sunfish.
A tail mold would be nice but it will depend on mold sales I'm pretty sure. If enough molds sell and people shout out loud enough a tail mold might follow but right now its too early in the molds life to know how well sales will be.
Right now I have a couple jugs of both Calhoun and MF plastics that suck for re-heats or re-melts and this is what I use for my chartreuse tails and if I can get a re-heat or re-melt out of a batch fine. If not, I just cook up a new batch as that's about all the good these two plastics are good for. I have bulk bags of tail stock made up and cut long for storage. When I want to whip up baits having a chartreuse tail I count out what I need and cut them to length so the weld joint is fresh plastic, not coated with the oil that is exuded in storage. I agree, its a pain but since I'm retried and generally can find time for the sundry stuff like tail making I just take it in stride.
I honestly think this is one mold that every one should have if they fish walleyes. The ease in injecting is a very positive point but basically every technique that's been tried with all of the baits currently being sold is easily doable in this baits and the finished product will certainly set its owner a step ahead of the status quo in the walleye world. This is a seriously good bait and one that shouldn't be passed up because a tail mold isn't available.
