Other uses for colorant?
« on: 11/24/18 10:24 UTC »
Has anyone tried mixing colors in with 2 part epoxy to get a desired tint.  My father is turning a bowl on the lathe from a burl chunk and was wanting to fill in the voids for a visual contrast. I thought it might be doable with color in small increments. I don’t have any on hand or I would try it.

Haven’t tried any colorant but you could sure put solids in it like glitter. Flex coat has a product that you can purchase at Barlow’s called irredescent glitter that mixes well with epoxy and makes a beautiful mix that would make a nice filler. Also, you could buy some small turquoise chunk and do the same as a filler. Saw this done out west around Jackson Hole, WY with nice results. I tried to upload a pic but won’t let me. Says it’s not jpeg?
