Do you guys/or can you use old decoy egg weights for lead heads? Or is it too hard?

Lots of lead used in weights has been cooked up using old wheel weights and other unidentifiable alloys. In larger heads it may not make so much difference as long as the gates of the mold allow the flow without setting up. In some smaller cavities the least bit of alloy in the lead can create headaches. I keep my lead pure but that's just me. Years ago I cast with wheel weight lead and had no issues as long as I kept the pot contents real hot. To be on the safe side of things I'd empty the pot and then melt the decoy weights and try some casting. If you get good casting go ahead and add some lead and have at it.

Next question, is there anyone out there that might be interested in these mostly egg weights?  I dont pour lead but i know a lot of you guys do.  I counted it them up and i have about 100 4oz old decoy  weights. I think its 90 egg weights and 10 or so flat weights that are probably 3-4oz.

Dont want to junk them if someone can get some use out of them.
