The last couple weeks have been pretty busy around here. The usual family Christmas stocking stuffers and the ice fishing baits to get done have me in the shop a lot.
I make what I call a "pro pak" featuring eight colors, two of which are glow, using the Do-It Ice Tickler and the Wax Wiggler molds. One color in each mold of twenty baits, or 60 of a color but differing sizes and shapes. 480 total baits, separate zip locks for each color/size with the anise scent I make in each bag. Pretty popular baits with the family anglers and some good friends who ice fish. I am finally getting caught up a bit.
I've been trying a couple different heaters in the shop and have a nice propane model that gets the shop warm in just a couple minutes and seems to be fairly easy on fuel....I've been using one standard 20 pound bottle I took off the camper and was in no way full and finally had to fill it yesterday after four weeks of on and off use. Once the shop is heated I can switch to an electric model for maintaining the heat and this works pretty darned good.
For giggles this morning I clicked on a lake cam site for Two Harbors that shows my pet breakwater from across the harbor and be darned if there aren't four guys out there casting....cohos must be in and near the wall. Rochester is at 25 degrees right now and Duluth is at 30. Two Harbors will be pretty close in temp to Duluth but it would have to be pretty darned nippy casting out there as the wind is blowing there, as well as here, today. Dreaming again. lol Besides, I have to get this Christmas list stuff done and get on with my snack sticks.
