Baits Sticking to Laminate Plate
« on: 07/29/19 13:34 UTC »
How do you keep baits from sticking to the laminate plate?  I find that if the bait sticks to the laminate plate and is re-positioned back into the mold it will often times "float" when you shoot the second color resulting in a poor final product.

If you use oil on the laminate plate is there a problem with baits de-laminating after the second pour is completed?

I dampen a little paper towel with raw plastic and give the plate a very light wipe with it. Its enough to allow a release but the second color will cook to it. It helps to allow the plate to cool on some baits, so repetitive injections might be an issue as the plate gets warmer and warmer.
