Underspin success-Thanks Ctom
« on: 10/28/19 10:16 UTC »
Got out last week and fished an underspin with a 3.5” ripper I made. Tom was nice enough to send me some underspin heads he poured up for me since I don’t have the mold which I painted and finished. These are 1/4 oz heads with a size 3 nickel blade. The fish were absolutely destroying it. Just throwing it up shallow and nice steady retrieve back to the boat. You could feel when your cadence was perfect thanks to a sensitive rod and fluorocarbon line which also helped when a bass would eat the bait from the tail.

Not certain but I think I posted this a couple years ago....

This was done on a 1/16 underspin with a treble in lieu of the blade and rigged with a plastic. Vertically jigged this guy was a monster on crappies right at the transition to ice. Friends added a waxie to the treble, but I fished it as you see it. I still carry a few of these with me and use them occasionally. If the crappies are on, these work great and fall-offs are a thing of the past. These are way cheaper than the Jigging Raps too.

I modded the cast on barb and collar off but added the #400 keeper wire in.

Nice touch on the treble hook for the head strikers. Also the under spin is a great bait.
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN
