I thought I'd do my cooking dishes this morning. When I got them all washed and drying on a towel I went to the shop to sweep the floor but decided to pull the 2 1/2" thick rubber floor mats that cover three feet out and the full length of both sides of the work bench outside to sweep them off and then give them a bath. I finally got down to their original black after some serious elbow grease and strong soap got involved. Damn. I couldn't believe the 2 mats were that dirty. And the 3'X5' mat that goes on top of the rubber took ten minutes to vacuum....at least it seemed that long.
The floor swept up fairly clean so I didn't need to do anything else with it. Then it was off to the work bench to put things back in the tool cabinet or hang items back on the hooks of the slot board walls. I amazing how things just don't get hung up again for whatever reason after being used.
I've got some laundry to do too. I use old terry cloth bath towels I pick up cheap at garage sales and then cut into handier sizes to clean up spills and for wiping down the bench top surfaces. I use a lot of the terry cloth in my meat processing too.
After getting things spiffed up and put back together the work room looks a bit more inviting now. Carole said she'd put a recliner in there now that it was a livable space and keep an eye on me but I declined on that self-invite. A guy's gotta have his space. I told her we could go to Menards and get one of the Rubbermaid lawn buildings for a she shed for her but she said wood is her thing. The conversation stopped at that point. But anyway, I got my spring cleaning done this morning and can now go relax in relative clean comfort doing what I love doing....staying out of HER way. lol
