« on: 03/10/12 00:42 UTC »
Hey guys, most of you have alot more knowledge when it comes to this subject so I'm throwing it out to you experts.. I want to start pouring saltwater plastics and wanted to know if I could use the hard plastic or do i need to get the saltwater pastic?   everything i inject now is for trout and i only use the soft plastic and have to say the CCM gives me the best results...  Two thumbs up to Jason for his superior products...

You dont need to buy "saltwater plastic" its all the same stuff, so just use the plastic that best suits the species of fish your targeting and the bait your making.

X2 - Mick hit it right on the head.

The Saltwater is just a harder compound.  It makes a more durable bait, but really comes into play when the size of the bait starts to get big.  If you used soft on a 24" bait that weighed 6 oz. it would tear under its own weight.  The hard would give it the durability it needed.  The action of the bait is determined by considering the design and compound that will be needed when designing the mold (sizing the thickness of the appendages).

I fish Inland Saltwater in the South, Specks and Flounder, mostly.  Most of my plastic is "Hard"...CCM's Saltwater Plastic IMHO. I favor CCM Carrots on Jigheads over anything else, usually on a Double Rig, Chunkin' ~n~ Windin'.  With no Colorant and no Scent, CCM Hard is fairly stiff...that's a good thing...once You add plenty Color it start to slightly soften, same with Scent.  If You're looking for Saltwater Soft Plastic, CCM Hard is the best there is.  You done right.

Oh...Yeah...
