We've been hot, humid and generally too dry here for the last month and finally this morning early we had a cold front crawl thru. There was the usual bs rough weather that came ahead of the front but we only had some lightning/thunder. Hardly any wind and no hail, but the gig thing was rain. We needed rain. at 7:45 I had registered 1.01" on the digital gauge and we're still getting some light rain since I read the gauge. The front has passed now and the breeze is up and man, its darned near cold. 68 degrees feels like a blizzard. Feels good. Hopefully this will break that dry pattern we've been hung up in for the last 6 weeks. The last 4 have given us .66" inches of rain while the temps have hit the upper 80's to mid-90's with dew points in the mid to upper 70's.
Based on all the warning and watch boxes that greeted me on the weather app I use I think this cold front brought some ugly with it to a few areas, just not here at home. I'm curious if the hurricane that's tearing apart the south will have any bearing on weather up here now. Sure hoping our southern members and fellow tackle crafters are staying safe and are not getting in harms way with the weather there.
