One off the bucket list

Took a hot air balloon ride this weekend. A little scared at first but once we got up there it was so peaceful.

I'm not big on heights out in the open like that. A friend owns a balloon service and has offered to take me up but no thanks. I do love the scenery in pictures I've seen taken from up in a balloon unfortunately I don't think it would end well.

You're looking at it wrong. The good book says it's appointed for a man to die once. I say let's get it over with. Then it's one less thing to worry about.

Both of my sons are skydivers and have skydived out of hot air  balloons, a lot different than and airplane dive they tell me.

My Dad used to say it a lot. One thing certain in this world is death, we all get to do it once.
Pretty cool Lamar!

Yes I live in Mansfield but this guy was out of Mt.Gilead so maybe a half hour away. He kept it low at first and even brushed some tree tops. Then up to a thousand feet or so. We could talk to people on the ground. Then we went up to three thousand before we came back down to look for a place to land. So about an hour all together. I had a bear hug on that pole for awhile but then it became so peaceful. I would definitely do it again.

Oh nice yeah I've got family in Mansfield I'm down in Athens area.  Yeah I would love to do something like that but would have to get my nerve built up.  How long does the ride last? I did a  helicopter ride over the smoky mountains but that was years ago.
