WW, I like that Ultra Minnow head too. The jigs that I'm showing here look a lot denser than they are. They're bucktail and fox tail hair and each one is around 4" long. The bucktail is tied in first, small amount and then a layer of fox tail, so the profile is big and the bucktail supports the fox. Not unlike some fly patterns are tied.
I tie with many types of hair too, just depends on how I want them to look, and the movement I want.
My friend is fishing some deep lakes, 30' to 40' and sparse jigs are not what they use there. I also did some researching on what types of forage are in S. Korea, and he chose the weights & colors he wanted, so we may end up changing it up the next time around. He's getting some jig heads to test for me too, so he's helping me out with some R & D.
