Denny Welch...
« on: 01/20/21 18:52 UTC »
Just this morning there was a post by Rosemary that she and Denny both had COVID in December. She fared well however Denny had complications in the form of Covid Pneumonia and is still fighting it. That said, I've offered prayers for both of them and they could use prayers from ya'll. Denny has some other health issues that really make having Covid dire.

If/as I hear any further info on Denny's well being I'll post it here. Covid is bad crap and I'm hoping ya'll take care and by all means stay safe from this stuff.

Best wishes for a full  and speedy recovery Denny.  Praying extra hard.

Terrible to hear Denny isn't doing well with his Covid diagnosis.  It's brutal stuff.  Thanks for updating us, Tom.

Denny is at home but on oxygen 24/7. The covid has really delivered a hit to his lungs. He'll be getting an x-ray tomorrow or the next day to determine how clear his lungs are. As some here are aware, Denny had open heart surgery a couple years back and part of the stress of the surgery took its toll on him in the form of memory loss. The covid has made this issue much worse. Right now he needs to heal and get prayers. He's a fighter, but this is a wholly different kind of fight for him.

We're seeing people who have "recovered" from Covid infections who have xrays that look far worse than people who have smoked a pack of cigarettes for 40 years months after their initial infection.  If his confusion is getting worse, that could be an indicator that he isn't oxygenating very well and there is also some studies coming out now that covid infections that affected the brain on initial infection can become dormant and then have a resurgence months later.  All of this is so new it makes it especially scary and concerning how it is affecting people months and months after they got over the acute phase of their infection.

In the last week I’ve heard of several people in my small town that recovered but are still dealing with memory issues. This stuff is unreal for sure.

Prayers to you and your family Denny.

Denny had a lot to do with setting the tone of this forum early on. Him and a handful of other guys made this one of the friendliest places on the internet.
