I threw the swim shad on an A-rig two weekends ago and got absolutely HAMMERED by an 8+ lb largemouth 10 feet from the boat, fought him for 15 seconds or so and then he decided to put his head back down and take another lightning fast run to freedom and WHAM!...Broke me off! My heart sank to the bottom of that lake for a quick second! LOL...but hey, that's fishin.
I have an idea using foil that I've had for awhile, but just haven't said anything about it yet but, now that we're on the "foil" subject I'll throw it in there. How about shooting half of a holographic swimshad, carrot, or whatever other bait you'd like with the lami plate, then inserting a strip of foil matching the profile of the bait and then shooting the other half?? I thought it would really give that bait some nice shine and character. What do you guys think?...Anyone tried it?
