Man....I thought I had enough jigs made up to last a year, but nada. It seems that the plastic orders are companioned with jig orders. I finally broke down and tried out a new custom mold for the 1/32 heads. Its still a pourable mold but the gates are smaller and my pouring has to be a tad bit more precise, but I got it honed in this morning.
I've had an old pair of molds that each have cast maybe half a million heads each over the last twentyfive years or so. Both molds have had the hinge pins replaced a dozen time and both are getting sloppy again so I had some new molds cut over winter but hadn't had a chance to pour them until today. I'm liking both of them. I doesn't take long to pour up 300, 400, 500 heads. Hook size is fairly flexible in each and within certain parameters all of the different hook sizes cast very clean. Like I say...I'm really liking these molds. I'm going to need them to keep up with my sales. lol
