Possible Lure Shortage
« on: 03/10/21 20:29 UTC »
I heard today that most major soft plastics companys were getting ready to have major shortages. A dealer that went to a show a couple weeks ago told me that Zoom had some stuff that they  dealers wouldn't be until October & some things not until next year. Also said Berkley & others were going to be effected too, but according to the dealer that zoom said they would be effected more than anybody else being the biggest soft plastics manufacturer. Hopefully this doesn't happen, but if we can manage to get plastisol most of us won't have to worry.

What is the cause for the shortage?

Most of the production of the raw material that makes up plastisol is manufactured overseas and they're having supply and distribution shortages due to the ongoing pandemic.

There will be shortages of raw goods and there is already an impact on finished baits.  I would also anticipate price increases.

We use American materials from Exxon to manufacture our plastisols and do not anticipate any shortages or supply chain issues.

I read that some of the manufacturing facilities in Texas suffered some setbacks in terms of production due to the winter storm a couple weeks ago when the factories didn't have power. No idea how much that will set them back though.

I think this is an across the board shortage in my opinion.  I am finding fewer and fewer items that I need and find myself settling for suitable substitutes or shopping from several different suppliers to get my orders filled.
I find it incredible that I have to explain to a grown American citizen that taking a knee during the National Anthem is disrespectful.

I talked with Creme Lure yesterday and they were shut down for 1 week. They are in Texas. Also, they all ready were behind because of Covid.
