big shakey head worms?

If throwing a bigger than usual shakey head deep  in summer what are some of you guys favorite worms? I actually thought about the cutter worm, but not sure if that's what i really want. I usually throw the essential series finesse crawler or something around the same size on an 1/8 or 3/16 when fishing a normal sized shakey head. I also have some 3/8 shakey head jigs with a7/0 wide gap  hook a fellow from picwick made , but i  never got around to trying them out last year. I figure i'll have to throw ned rig & shakey heads a lot this summer with the intense pressure that's already on the lake this year so i might as well get a mold to make a  bigger shakey head worm. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Lamar, thanks. I have the 11" smoothy ribbon tail  worm mold from fatguys & was planning on using it, but didn't know if something like an oversized finesse or trick worm would be better. Between the 11" smoothy, the 6" finesse crawler & the 7" essential series ribbon tail i should have it covered pretty good then shouldn't I ?

A guy that fishes Picwick a lot and cashes a lot of checks makes and throws a lot of big worms in the summer over there. He’s a member here and a super guy. I saw him snatch a 6 or 7 lber off a point over there on one. It’s a nice bait. I believe he sells a few too. Goes by basskat. It’s a straight worm bout 12” long.

When I want to finesse it I go with the ex finesse worm on a 1/8 oz shakey head.  If I want their attention I like to throw the angling ai mid mag worm.  It only measures 6.25 inches but it is a fat little sucker.  I throw both the round bottom and flat bottom versions (trick worm).

My personal fave for deep shaky rigging is Do-it's Tube Worm... it's moderately long, moderately bulky, and has good movement in its tentacles, but best of all (IMO) is that it collapses on hook sets.

I have this mold and it makes quite the bait. Its about the largest worm I use but I can see larger worms working in areas where the fish get larger. I've taken a half dozen largemouths using it, all at or just over 4 pounds.

The only thing I can say is it’s  awfully high for a single cavity over sized tube.

This is the 8” fat treat worm from BassTackle. It’s a hoss and I usually toss it on 15-17lb fluoro with a 3/8, 1/2 or 3/4oz randy Howell magnum shaky head with a 7/0 hook

That's my version of Texas Red by Big Bite Baits.  Works really well in the heat of summer.  I have a magnum shaky head box with head sizes 3/8-1oz and five colors of worms: black, green pumpkin, plum, Texas Red and watermelon slice.  Those are my big worm staples and make up all of my 10-13" ribbon tail colors as well for the most part.
