Hand Pour Trimming

What does everyone use to trim their hand pours? The best thing I've found so far & that gives me the cleanest trims is a pair of manicure scissors due to the thin blades

I use a wood burning tool that I ground the tip to a knife edge . Keep a piece of steel wool laying next to you to wipe the tip clean every few seconds or it will load with burned plastic that sticks to your bait.

I use a cheap pair of scissors you can find at any Wal-Mart.  As long as they cut, they will work.  I have used this particular pair for hundreds of hand poured swim baits and they work just as good as when they were new.

I use a razor blade but I am sure there are better ways to do it!

I use curved deer hair trimming scissors. Seems to form to a lot of the curves on the baits...or flipped around...I don't have as many accidents trimming off too much...with the points pointing outward.

Is there a way to wipe the extra off prior to taking the lures out of the mold.  Thus reducing the amount of over pour, or extra matereal?

If it's a very small amount like what comes off when you stop a pour I just throw it in the cup & stir it in. Over pour, what i try to do when i start i fill it even with the lip of the cavity & slowly continue down the cavity still keeping it even. If you tip your cup back slightly it'll help you get in tight spots.
