Any flat backed head will fish those. If you're planning on swimming them then the Shad Head with the wire keeper might be a good option with the forward hook eye. Vertically the Diner Shiner offers the wire keeper but with the traditional 90 degree hook and a lot of detail.I don't care for the baits with the flat front end. It just looks cumbersome and really limits what heads will look and fish well with it
Hey bassboys, this is the mold i have been using for shad type baits. It's sold as a saltwater jig, and has 2 keeper barbs. I usually remove one of the barbs for smaller body baits. I like the 60 degree jig hooks it uses. I have less hang ups on rocks and brush with that style.https://store.do-itmolds.com/Bullet-Nose-JigbrSz-18-14brHk-410-or-413brCollar-Double-Barb_p_421.html
Not sure on your original question, but the only head I am aware of (I could be wrong) that comes out of the nose is the Yamamoto Swim head. https://store.do-itmolds.com/Gary-Yamamoto-Swimming-JigbrSz-116-18-316-14-516brHk-Gamakatsu-V-EyebrCollar-Barb_p_969.html. This one looks to be out of stock on Do it. Not sure if it can be found somewhere else.
Are you saying the 60 deg. has less hand ups than the 90 deg ? Also how wide is that head where it meets the shad body ? 1/4" ?
I wonder what Yamamoto recommends to use as a bait on that ?

This made me laugh. I have this mold but don't use it for plastics. I tie bucktail or feathers on it and troll it behind a flasher for trout. I like the looks of the swimbait head, but haven't ever tried them.
