Multi Colored Skirts
« on: 04/19/12 14:41 UTC »
Has anyone tried to shoot the skirt mold and make a multi-colored skirt?  I'd like to get a skirt with alternating colors, i.e. black strand blue strand, black, blue.....

I could probably get a half and half skirt with the blending block, but that's not what I'm looking for.

What could you use to block the plastic from going up the tails on the spline that wouldn't hurt the mold when you closed it?  I would think that would be easier than cutting off every other spline.

Just throwing it out there and seeing if anyone else has tried yet!

The way I did it was that I shot the skirt mold in color 1. Cut the body off at the base of the legs...and then striped every other one out of the spline...and then shot the 2nd color.

Wasn't exactly a fast process! But I made some really nice black and chartreuse skirts.
