1.5" and 2" CC Gliders For Crappies?
« on: 01/03/22 13:18 UTC »
Does anyone fish these for crappies much?  I had a sample of the 2" once and it looked pretty nice and proportioned.  Is it just me or does the 1.5" look sort of short and pudgy?  Just going from the photos.

How do these baits fish for you guys on crappies?

I have the 1.5" and 3" Gliders and they both are great baits. The smaller one is perfect crappie size and the larger one is a great walleye bait when working current seams. I have the 2" Flapjack mold as well as it's companion tail mold. The Flapjack is a super nice bait for Crappies, being a bit more streamlined than the glider, while I'll fish the tails right off the stringer at times and do well on Crappies if they're looking for something a bit smaller.

Check out the Thumper Swim Fry. That's a cool bait that works very well. Easy to play with too for tail colors. I hand pour the belly portion then inject a top/tail color.

I have the Thumper Swim Fry - good bait.

If you had to take one for putting crappies in the boat would it be the 1.5" Glider or the Flap Jack?

Marc, the tail; on the Flapjack is narrower and thinner than that of the Glider, plus the body is not as bulky which lets you fish a smaller hook if you want to. The body is semi-segmented as well which allows you to nip a segment at a time to shorten the bait if you want without creating a chopped look.
