Size 8 hooks this time, all sickle variety.
Top is a Matzuo, middle is the Lil Nasty and the bottom is the new Victory. Wire sizes seem to be very close. The Victory hook, again, has the longest leg height from the shank to the eye....which I really like. The Lil Nasty and Mat both have up-swept hook points while the Victory's point seems to be about straight which I think will lead to better hooking. The Matzuo and Victory both have less exaggerated hook barbs but both are sufficient for holding in a fish's mouth based on actual use last fall [the Victory hook was an aberdeen style but has the same reduced barb height and works great] . Over-all I think the Victory hook simply has cleaner bends and the black nickel finish is sweet.
I'll be casting up a mess of the #8 Victory hooks this week and can't wait to put them to the ultimate test of real fish. I'm really liking the Victory line of hooks.
