St. Patrick's Day
« on: 03/17/22 14:52 UTC »
What a great day. I'm 1/4 Irish and each year for the last several [except the last two for covid] Carole and I have done a bar crawl following the Calendonia Pipe band thru Rochester. This is the band's first year back post covid and we hit their first stop, an American Legion Club, and took in the best performance we've seen them do thus far.... complete with a couple of the pipers dancing on the bar. We enjoyed a beer during this performance then hustled across town to the band's third stop. We ordered up a meal and were just about done eating when they came in to  do their stint. After a couple more beers it was time to come home. Great music, great food and great ice cold beers, what better way to spend a cloudy Thursday. Fishing tomorrow with the remnants of some great Irish bagpipe music still wandering around in my mind.

I am Irish myself and my oldest daughters birthday is today. We will have to settle for staying at home for a while yet but still have lots of fond memories.
I find it incredible that I have to explain to a grown American citizen that taking a knee during the National Anthem is disrespectful.
