This year sucks
« on: 08/13/22 13:05 UTC »
Well looks like no fishing at all this year!!  Screwed my back again and in May I tried a trip to my Dads in Western NY for Memorial Day.  The morning after I got there I was in the ER and then a week long hospital stay with some kind of bacterial infection in my leg.  I havent even felt like tying or any tackle craft.

only fishing I'm getting is reading the boards!  Hope your all having a great year!

Well damn, Doug. That ain't good. I know for fact that when the back isn't good, nothing is good. Thankfully I have managed to NOT have any back issues that stick around long. Get that back squared away and you'll be back in the saddle. Take care and hoping for your full and speedy mend!

That sucks fatman. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Been a slow fishing year for me too, but it's because of being busy with many other projects.
Thankfully not physical restrictions as you are suffering.
Get well soon!

Yep, this year could be better. I've had a back problem, ruptured a disc years ago, and that's not fun at all! Fatman, I hope you get healed up quickly and completely.

I'm generally healthy for an old guy, but my wife was diagnosed with some cancer back in Jan. She had two types and, they've done 3 surgeries to remove it and now she's going through chemo & immunotherapy. The treatments are hard on her and makes her weak, so I've had to do most of the cooking & other household chores. As a result, I haven't been fishing much either, and very little with tying or tackle making.

I have plenty to do, just having the time to do it all is the hard part.

I've also had a good friend and a brother in law, both around my age, pass away this year, so at least your still above the ground!

Sorry to hear it bud. I'm not getting to fish either with my wifes complications from back surgery & getting septic from it & a 2 month stay in a rehabilitation facility. I've been once & it was pretty much a bust. Now i'm having  surgery Wednesday on the same knee again & the wife's having extremely bad nerve pain from her surgery & she's  starting intense physical therapy tomorrow so it's going to be even worse if that's even possible. I'll  have to take care of her 24/7 while i'm off plus take her to therapy  so that takes care of the slightest chance of going  fishing. Yes sir this year has sucked real bad. I hope things turn around for you.
