I got to go fishing yesterday. Today would not be the day to be on the water.
A friend and I fished a Mississippi River pool 4 backwater yesterday and did really well on crappies with a bonus bass and perch. Sun shone thru some broken clouds and the breeze we had got buffered by the trees making the day just a pleasure to be out in it.
Last night around 9 the wind ramped up out of the east and hasn't let up yet at all. The forecast is for falling temps to accompany the much needed rain, but this talk of snow is not the least bit welcome to me. What with the wind/rain/snow I can't imagine Andrew sneaking out today to wet a line, but with the rain I am seeing right now all he'd have to do is stick his rod out the garage door.
Yup.....I'm happy I got to go yesterday. Happy to that its still 51 degrees and not snowing, BUT I am sure this will be changing once the cold front and cold air win the shoving match with the warm stuff. I just can't get over the wind. The small river behind me has white caps on it.
