sunrises
« on: 09/30/23 23:40 UTC »
As I've grown older, I find myself enjoying being out of bed early enough to watch the sun rise. At the cabin this past week I was gifted two absolutely stunning sunrises over Lake Superior, back to back days of Thursday and Friday.

This was Thursday morning just after 6 AM. I thought I'd finally touched on a picture that was simply hot, given the deep red.

Then this came along on Friday morning. Maybe a couple minutes earlier than the day before. It looked like the sky was bleeding.

These pictures are right off the phone as they appeared. While the fishing basically sucked, the sunrises, all of them and not just these two, made the whole trip worthwhile. The fall leaves were a stunning sight this trip too but the wind and constant rain really messed with Mother Nature's leafy artwork so few pictures were taken of the woods, but these two sunrises more than made up for what the weather took away..

Nice sun rise. Here's a sunset six hours north of you.

Beautiful Lamar. Was that from earlier this year or are you up there right now?

This was the first week in September on our Canadian fishing trip. This was the view from our cabin. It never gets old. I like this cabin because it faces west for two reasons one you get awesome sunsets and two most of the times winds ( not all ) come from the west so it blows the bugs into the woods. Mosquitos aren't bad in September and no black flies but we've been up there in June and you'll want a cabin that faces west.

Great pictures Tom. I always try to throw a sunrise picture in my saltwater fishing posts. Mother Nature just seems so powerful, yet graceful with a sunrise.
