Quakin Shad

So I found a QS on ebay for $55, which was way to good of a deal to pass up.  For those that have it, are you using it mostly as a trailer or fishing it solo?  This will be my biggest swimbait, so excited to play around with it.

I love the Quakin Shad for both bass and pike. I fish it on a weighted wide gap 4/0 hook, VMC 7320, that has the extended shank ahead of the locking bend. My buddy and I catch way more fish using the QS than the 4" ripper that was a favorite. Fished on the weighted hook, 1/8 is what I used, it can be tossed right into the slop and will stay relatively weedless. I tie my 30 pound braid directly to the hook after rigging the bait a little longer than the extended shank is, then I pull the extra head of the worm over the eye of the hook. No knot, no hook eye to grab weeds. Works slick.

That's what I like to hear! No pike here, but I think the bass will dig it.
