Nice rain....
« on: 04/08/24 07:57 UTC »
As much as I hate how the weather can mess up fishing time, we certainly are getting some much needed rain that doesn't include tornados or floods. Knock on wood. We got some late snow a couple weeks back and that was a blessing, but lately we've been getting rain each day to the tune of about 1/2" to 3/4" per day. We were so dry from last fall things were starting to look bleak for this spring but now its not so bad. More towards fishing, the new water has helped get some lake and river levels back up to where they should be.

Now the wind....  we don't have any need for 25 to 40 mph daily breezes. And we're certainly seeing a lot of those of late.

I've been out three times in the last week and dodged any wet. The fish have been sort of cooperative. The wind, not so much. Hoping for a couple hours in the morning again.

Anyone else getting out?

March and April have always been windy months around here,  This year sets a new standard though.  25-35 every freakin day.  It is crazy,  We could use some of your rain though.  I have a brand new ultralight rig I want to take on a shakedown run but 3 1b braid and 1/32 oz jigs do not play well in heavy winds.
I find it incredible that I have to explain to a grown American citizen that taking a knee during the National Anthem is disrespectful.

The Lord always provides! However, not always to suit our desires!   :(

I used to complain about the rain messing up my desire to go fishing, but not now. Nothing I can do to change it, so it's actually a blessing, just not for going fishing at a given moment.  I used to have no problem going fishing in the rain when I was a lot younger, but rather not do so now.

Indeed, there's always more to the plan than here & now, and the older I get, the better I understand that.

I've been working on getting my garden started, and water is necessary, so rain is fine with me. I don't want to see the winds, and certainly not tornadoes, but I know it can happen.

I put in the Lords hands, and let him deal with it!  ;D

I do want & need to go do some fishing, but also want to get my garden growing. Again, part of the plan and it's all important in it's own time.
