This is an exact replica of the regular Croakers, only 1.75" long. The body is 1", the legs aprox. .75". It has the same great action, just in a smaller package. 3 Cavity injection mold.

Frog Question in general?
What is easier to reel in, a small frog (like this one) or a larger frog, like 3+ inch? Using a spinning reel, 6:1 retrieve ratio, 6lb test , for river smallmouth.
Or which size frog is best for river smallmouth?

Hi Keith,
Hopefully some river guys can chime in and give you a good answer. The best I can offer is to make you a sample bag of both and let you test them out.

I do a LOT of smallmouth fishing on the Mississippi river... with the 3.5" Croaker...and smallmouth will eat that bait. It's really more of a largemouth bait.
But there is no doubt in my mind that the new 1.75" will be a super smallmouth bait.
If I were fishing a light action spinning rod with 6lb test...I'd be inclined to go with the 1.75" to start (especially early in the top water season) moving up to a bigger bait later in the year as the frogs get bigger.
My smallmouth poppers I use on my fly rod are all 3" or under....

Keith; I would say the 3.0 or 3.5 Inch will be "easier" to fish. Given a good hook selection; the heavier bait will allow better control and better feel; especially if there is wind, or stronger current. These baits have almost neutral buoyancy; so sink rate isn't an issue. I haven't done a lot of small stream fishing; but have fished both wind and current a fair bit. Both conditions will favor a heavier bait. My 2 cents; anyway.

Think you could add salt and a Jig head and fish the 1.75" for crappie? Do not see any reaason this would not work but I do not have any of CCM's frogs yet.

Well, today I received my K-chub mold and WOW
! Simply Awesome! Inside the box as always there was a sample pack of the new baits and in that sample pack was a 1.75" Croaker. I took the sample pack to work and showed a couple of people that find my hobby very interesting and when one of the females I work with seen the little frog, she fell in love with it and begged me for it. I couldn't resist, I gave it to her. I figure as much as she showed it to everybody, it must of made her day big time. Thanks Jason. I got a look at it and it looks fantastic! Great Job.
