4" ST Chub Grub ***New Release***

This is a 4 cavity 4" Swimmin' Chub Grub.  Approximately 3.5" in the mold,  4" on the fall or retrieve.  The body measures approximately 5/8" in diameter at its widest.

The thing that sets the ST Grubs apart from other grubs is it's versatility.  You can swim it at a fast retrieve and really turn some water, or you can use light weight and the tail goes into finesse mode.  It works great on the fall with any amount of weight, swimming, or bouncing it off the bottom.  This is a serious, big fish, thumpin' grub.

May be a silly question but which way do you prefer to set the hook?

It's a good question.  You can set it either way, I prefer it with the tail to the side vs. vertical.  I don't see a big difference in action either way.  The body would probably be a bigger consideration since it is more of an oval shape than round.  In this instance I would let the hook / body dictate how I rigged it.

I never thought about the hook set. I remember watching a video last year of a guide on Lake Fork. He said to make sure that when you set your hook in the bait to make sure that it was to the side. It was not this particular lure but the action was the same...well it could not be the same action because there are not any baits out there like this...but you know what I mean...
